A visit to Esplora is a fun day out which encourages engagement with exhibits and aims to enthuse visitors about science. Esplora embraces a ‘free choice’ learning environment and is a family orientated visitor centre.
Esplora Interactive Science Centre consist of several parts - the main part is Exhibitions area featuring approximately 200 interactive and educational exhibits about various scientific topics which visitors can touch and interact with.
The Activity Centre which is set up in its own building with two floors where visitors can experience science through hands-on activities, theatre, art and music. It features science shows about bubbles, sounds, human body, electricity and more.
There is a separate Planetarium building where colorspace 4K theatre is situated which hosts entertaining and educational shows related to our planet and space, the Solar System and the whole Universe.
There is also exhibition part dedicated to Villa Bighi history. Designed in a the traditional museum style and including a rich display of objects and interpretation, the exhibition will tell the stories of the building and the people that passed through, with the intention to create a discourse between the past and present.
Apart from the exhibits in the main exhibition halls, Esplora also offers an outdoor experience for both kids and adults. These areas include; a playscape for our younger visitors, a picnic area, an amphitheatre, and a botanical garden amongst others.
